Unable to Install New apps on macOS Catalina, Fix. If you are experiencing challenges around installing new apps on macOS Catalina, chances are that it is likely due to the new security changes on macOS Catalina. By the way, dragging apps around like this won't fix anything, but could break a whole lot. Apps have to be installed, not dragged around, and you can't drag the 32-bit version to the 64-bit folder to magically convert it. Nor do you have to, 32-bit apps are just fine in 64-bit Windows system. I am running my iMac Late 2012 on macOS Mojave and I have several 32 bit programs I regularly use and don’t want to lose or upgrade, if I used VMware Fusion 12 could I run Mojave and Big Sur. I currentley have VMware Fusion 7.1.1 with windows 7 which I no longer use and does not work.

To upgrade from OS X Mountain Lion, first upgrade to OS X El Capitan, then upgrade to macOS Big Sur.
